Standing 2,565m, Doi Inthanon is the highest peak in Thailand. It was declared a national park in 1972. At this time of the year, the weather was cool and dry, thanks to the North Eastern monsoon wind from China. The Park boasts of many beautiful waterfalls and 2 defined trekking trails. The best surprise was to discover cherry blossoms in full bloom. Unfortunately, we only have enough time to trek up 2 waterfalls.

ReplyDeleteGood experience to trek at oversea. You really a happy trekker.
ReplyDeletejanicegoh > very beautiful sky
ReplyDeleteDid you trek to the waterfalls? They can be reached by car, right?
ReplyDeleteWe visited Morphang waterfall and Phua Sua waterfall around MHS region and Siriphum waterfall and Wachirathan waterfall in Doi Inthanon. The Morphang waterfall and Phua Sua waterfall were pathetic looking becuase of the dry season. However, the Siriphum waterfall and Wachirathan waterfall at Doi Inthanon were spectacular. The 4 waterfalls are accessable by road and all have beautiful trails running up to the upper sections of the waterfalls for the hard core trekkers. I saw from Doi Inthanon brochure a few more spectacular waterfalls, namely Mae Ya, Mae Klang, Sirithan and Pha Dok Sieo which we did not visit owing to time constraint.

ReplyDeleteYes, the Mae Ya fall is really spectacular!
ReplyDeleteThe sky was absolutely beautiful that evening. It was quite difficult to take the photos because of low lighting and no camera stand. I took so many snaps. This may not be perfect but is my best shot.
ReplyDeleteOh, very very very........cantik......ganbateh :-))
